I came across the Dorothy Danahy website when looking for a bilingual assistant position.
Their name often appeared on various job ads that I had seen. So I decided to contact them directly rather than go through their website in order to arrange an appointment.
I was asked to send my CV and was contacted later the same day to schedule a date and time for an interview with them.
Once in their offices, I completed a series of tests. Having determined the type of position I was looking for, they confirmed that my profile corresponded to their vacancies and that I would be contacted shortly and briefed about any suitable jobs.
I generally don't have too much faith in recruitment agencies, as there is often no contact after the well-known scenario of tests and interviews, or if there is contact, it is several months later.
However, Dorothy Danahy kept their word and two days' later they called me with a job brief that was exactly what I was looking for.
I put myself forward for the job, a bilingual Executive Assistant role for a financial services company, a permanent position I have now held for 6 months.
In addition to this, my contact at the agency phoned me several times to make sure things were going well and to answer any questions I had about my new role.

It was time for me to give new meaning to my professional life. After several years spent assisting the management team of an SME, I wanted to join a company with international scope. For this, I needed real expertise and astute assistance from a reliable team with a solid network and a true understanding of my requirements. And those of their clients! Dorothy Danahy helped me to accurately identify my ambitions and steered me towards companies that suited my know-how perfectly. Today I work for the Marketing and World Distribution Manager of an insurance and banking group. I'm thrilled.
As soon as I entered the Dorothy Danahy offices, I knew I was in safe hands and that a suitable job would be found quickly for me. After completing language and computing tests, I then met with Dorothy, who perused my CV and we discussed my options. I never actually chose to be an assistant. It was just the way things turned out for me and the natural conclusion to the line of education I chose to follow. If I could give one piece of advice to those looking for an Assistant position on the market today, it would have to be to improve your English. The job market is already hard enough as it is, so having English is an invaluable asset in order to get ahead of the game. It is also essential to remember that there will always be obstacles to overcome when it comes to finding and then keeping a job, however they should be viewed as challenges and not dilemmas because there really are no problems, only solutions.

I contacted Dorothy Danahy following a skills assessment that I had wanted to do mid-way through my career which made it clear that I would continue to blossom in assistant roles working for company managers. I was welcomed in an extremely professional manner by a consultant who had an excellent knowledge of Executive Assistant jobs.
