I never actually chose to be an assistant. It was just the way things turned out for me and the natural conclusion to the line of education I chose to follow. In my experience of bilingual recruitment companies in Paris, Dorothy Danahy was by far the most reactive, and offered me the widest range of different roles, all of them in highly reputed companies. The consultants also paid close attention to the criteria I was seeking in a position, as I was not seeking an entirely classic assistant role.
