As soon as I entered the Dorothy Danahy offices, I knew I was in safe hands and that a suitable job would be found quickly for me. After completing language and computing tests, I then met with Dorothy, who perused my CV and we discussed my options. She put me forward for positions straight away and it seemed to me that the office had many clients and therefore a large network. I never actually chose to be an assistant. It was just the way things turned out for me and the natural conclusion to the line of education I chose to follow. To be an assistant it is so important to feel a sense of service in your job and to have a very optimistic approach to life. You are constantly under pressure to perform and therefore organisation, flexibility and of course enthusiasm are all essential for the role.

If I could give one piece of advice to those looking for an Assistant position on the market today, it would have to be to improve your English. The job market is already hard enough as it is, so having English is an invaluable asset in order to get ahead of the game. It is also essential to remember that there will always be obstacles to overcome when it comes to finding and then keeping a job, however they should be viewed as challenges and not dilemmas because there really are no problems, only solutions.
